Player 2 Problem Please Help

I just bot Guitar Hero world tour for my Wii. I can only get one player set up per instrument either the guitar or the drums. Once player 1 is set up player 2 doesnt come on. I changed the batteries. I play w/ 2 players on other wii games. Can anyone out there help?
