Guitars detected - won't work "press any button..."

Hi guys, I have had my Guitar Hero World Tour game for about 3 months now. I played it the first month or so without problems, however recently I have tried to pick it up and play again and I can't seem to get either of my guitars to work.

I have a Playstation 3, and an ashley Axe guitar as well as a brand new Nyko Front Man guitar. They both are plugged in, with new batteries, and seem to be detected on their dangly things. I can use them to access the main playstation menu, however the buttons won't work at the main screen that says "PRESS ANY BUTTON TO ROCK". I have pressed every button and nothing works. I have tried resetting the game, from the back, turning the guitars on and off, reconnecting them, cleaning the ports, replacing batteries....I am out of ideas! The guitar worked fine three months ago and since hasn't been played. The new guitar won't work either. Any suggestions? I can't find anything on google...thanks if you can solve this...

So the guitar works because you can use it in the menus etc. That's really weird man. I have no idea what can be wrong. Sorry

This exact thing has happened to me only this week. My giutar was working fine one day and the next day it was only registering as the 3rd and 4th controller. So I can launch the game from the playstation screen but once i get to the push any button to rock screen i can't do anything. Any help someone could provide would be great.

Hi mate, i just had this problem, is your guitar showing as being allocated to controller 3/4??? press the PS button and go to controller settings... reassign the controller to number 1.. mine was showing as 7!
